Job Title: SMB Marketing Leader EMEA
Description: The purpose of this role is to ensure the development and execution of a clearly defined and fully integrated Marketing strategy to address the SMB (Small Medium Business) market in EMEA, in support of the wider EMEA marketing objectives, working with the relevant Sales teams to prioritise the marketing activities to make the best use of the resources and funding available. This will be achieved with the support of a highly visible virtual team that interfaces both internally across Nortel and externally with Partners and Customers.
Key Accountabilities:
• Define and agree with EMEA Sales and Marketing management an integrated marketing plan in support of the SMB business plan, encompassing Brand Awareness, Lead Generation, Partner and Customer Co-Marketing and Sales Effectiveness activities, fully integrated with the EMEA Marketing plan.
• Develop Brand Awareness activities including media, analyst and consultant relationships, origination of press releases and new stories, paid advertising and advertorial placements, supporting regional SMB User Association activities and organising SMB-specific CxO events & activities.
• Drive Lead Generation activities to build revenue pipeline, through a range of activities including direct marketing campaigns, exhibitions and events/roadshows, supported by telemarketing. Agree targets, manage the distribution of leads to Sales (both direct and indirect) and report results via Salesforce.com.
• Initiate and support Co-Marketing activities with key Partners and Customers, including Alliance/Developer partners as appropriate. Leverage EMEA content, tools and processes, and drive adoption of EMEA marketing programmes and campaigns by selected channel partners. Leverage partner co-marketing funds to achieve measurable results. Provide marketing support for the recruitment, activation and motivation of new channel partners, as appropriate.
• Equip the SMB salesforce (Sales & SEs, both Nortel and Channel Partner teams) to successfully represent Nortel in the marketplace, ensuring availability of up-to-date sales training & updates, key sales tools & collaterals, up-to-date demonstration capabilities (using direct or indirect resources, as appropriate), recording and promotion of SMB wins/successes and regular updating of customer/market intelligence (e.g. market sizing, market shares, competitor activities, etc.)
• Ensure all databases containing SMB data are kept up-to-date.
• Manage SMB-related marketing budget(s), complying with agreed governance processes, to ensure that all activities are efficiently tracked and funded within the allocated budget.
• Regularly report achievements against agreed metrics and measurements to demonstrate maximum return on the SMB marketing investment.
• Establish, motivate and develop the virtual EMEA SMB Marketing team to create a positive working environment with particular attention to employee morale and engagement with the wider Nortel Marketing/Sales & Sales Support teams.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
• First Degree or equivalent; professional qualifications in Marketing preferred
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Minimum of 5 years marketing experience managing 3rd party agencies to budget and timescales. Outstanding track record of delivering successful marketing events.
• Must be capable of working in a complex matrix environment and be able to rapidly form close working relationships with in-country and core teams.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a marketing role in a Telecommunications or IT environment required. Experience of working with a Nortel partner or customer would be advantageous.
• Experienced working within multi-cultural, geographically dispersed teams.
• Leading and managing of high performing teams.
• Results-orientated with demonstrable focus on Return on Marketing Investment as an integral part of the strategy.
